SCIENTIFIC ABSTRACT SUBMISSION REGULATIONS
PRESENTATION
These regulations standardize the submission of scientific abstracts in the format of digital posters and free papers aimed at selection and presentation during the 55th Brazilian Congress of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging – CBR26, to be held by the Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) from September 17 to 19, 2026. By submitting an abstract, it is understood that the author(s) have carefully read all the information contained in these regulations. Abstracts that do not comply with the specifications described herein will be disqualified.
TYPES OF ACCEPTED ABSTRACTS
Original Work: Demonstrates research and results on preferably unprecedented topics, reflecting the experience of the authors or the institution. It must contain highly clear case series and methodology, with the resulting outcomes, even if still partial.
Pictorial Essay: Based on a subject of major radiological interest. The primary objective is the demonstration of images, which must be illustrative and aligned with the chosen topic. The text must be very succinct, prioritizing image examples. It does not require an extensive bibliography, and may refer only to a few recommended readings. Illustrations and content must belong to the author and/or the Institution, not collected from literature or electronic media.
Case Report or Case Series: A brief presentation of a single case or a few cases of the same pathology. The case(s) must be of interest to the specialty and their educational value must be discussed. Images must be highly illustrative. Note: Results based on statements such as “results will be presented” and/or “data will be analyzed” will not be considered. These must be exposed as clearly as possible, and conclusions must be based on the presented data.
AUTHORSHIP
Each author may submit as many abstracts as they wish, signed independently or in partnership with other authors.
Each abstract may be signed by up to 9 (nine) authors, and one of them must be identified as the primary/corresponding author.
REGISTRATION
Those interested in submitting their work for selection and subsequent presentation at CBR26, an event that will take place from September 17 to 19, 2026, must fill out the registration form with the data of the corresponding author and the abstract of the work through the Abstract Submission System on the CBR26 website (www.congressocbr.com.br). The work must be submitted in a TEXT ABSTRACT format (entered directly into the system itself), as well as a SHORT PRESENTATION (with 5 slides without identifying the institution and authors) in PDF, as described in these regulations.
THE FULL PRESENTATION (complete slides) must be sent through the website after the work is approved; the deadline will be from August 9 to September 10, and it must also be submitted in PDF.
Registration of the work must be done exclusively through the congress website. Submissions of work via email or any other method other than that described in these regulations will not be accepted.
At the time of registration, it must be disclosed whether one or more authors have or have had, in the last 12 months, any affiliation or relevant financial relationship with commercial companies that produce, market, resell, or distribute medical goods or products or services consumed or used on patients. The intention is not to prevent the participation of these authors, but the Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging (CBR) adopts policies and procedures aimed at identifying conflicts of interest.
Therefore, both the text abstract, as well as the short presentation and the full presentation (complete) of the submitted work, must not contain any commercial promotion and must maintain the privacy of patient data. No author names, identification of the institution, or any other similar information may appear in the text abstract and in the short presentation, and must appear only in the full presentation.
ABOUT THE ABSTRACT
The abstract of the work may be submitted in Portuguese, English, or Spanish. Abstracts in other languages will not be accepted.
It is forbidden to mention in the title, in the body, or other sections of the abstract, the name of the institution where the study was developed or the name of the authors, as well as any data that suggests its authorship. This information must be included only in the appropriate field.
Submit the abstract with up to 2500 characters with spaces in total (excluding title, authors, and institution of origin).
The use of charts or tables will not be permitted in the submission of text abstracts, although such resources may be used in the formatting of the short presentation and the full presentation.
Bibliographical references must not be included in the submission of the abstract.
ALL abstracts must obligatorily contain 5 keywords at the end.
ABOUT THE SHORT PRESENTATION FILE (5-SLIDE PDF)
The short presentation may be submitted in English, Portuguese, or Spanish, and submissions in any other language will not be accepted. The submission must be uploaded as a single PDF file containing exactly five slides, with a maximum file size of 10 MB. Bibliographic references must not be included in this short presentation. The first slide of the presentation must feature the title of the study at the top, WITHOUT the authors’ names or the name of the institution where the study was conducted. In addition to the title, this initial slide may contain other relevant information, such as text and figures. It is recommended that the content be structured within the short presentation to provide a comprehensive overview of the study, whether it is an oral abstract or an electronic poster.
ABOUT THE COMPLETE PRESENTATION FILE (PPT)
The complete study (final version) may be submitted in English, Portuguese, or Spanish, and submissions in any other language will not be accepted. The complete version of the study must be presented as a single PDF file containing a maximum of 30 slides, with a file size of up to 100 MB, and the submission window will be open from August 11 to September 10. The first slide of the presentation must display the title of the study, the full names of all authors, and the full name of the institution where the study was conducted. It is recommended that the content of the study be organized to allow the viewer to complete a full reading within 10 minutes. If the submission is approved, the complete presentation file will be published as an electronic poster. If the study is selected for an oral presentation, this will be the file presented live at the event, within a maximum time limit of 7 minutes. PLEASE NOTE: No changes to the file or authorship of the study will be permitted after the final submission deadline.
FORMATTING BY SUBMISSION TYPE
For original studies, the presentation must include the TITLE, INTRODUCTION (explicitly stating the objectives), METHODS, RESULTS, and CONCLUSIONS, and all information must be presented objectively. For pictorial essays, it must include the TITLE, INTRODUCTION (highlighting the significance and relevance of the proposed topic), and a brief DESCRIPTION of the presented material. For case reports or case series, the presentation must include the TITLE, INTRODUCTION (highlighting the clinical significance and relevance of the case), a brief DESCRIPTION, and a concise DISCUSSION.

SUBMISSION REVIEW AND SELECTION
The CBR26 Scientific Program Committee will review all submitted abstracts and select only those that comply with these regulations and possess sufficient scientific merit for presentation at the event. Submissions will only be reviewed and accepted if at least one of the authors is registered as an attendee for the Congress. The Committee reserves the right to modify the category of selected submissions, as well as to reassign them to other presentation formats or subspecialties at its discretion. The Scientific Program Committee has sole authority and its decisions are final regarding any matters not covered in these regulations.
APPROVED SUBMISSIONS – PRESENTATION FORMATS
Submissions approved for the Congress may be presented as either an “Oral Presentation” or an “Electronic Poster,” with this designation determined by the Scientific Program Committee. Electronic Posters consist of the presentation of scientific studies through a series of digital slides submitted prior to the event. All submission types (“Original Study,” “Pictorial Essay,” and “Case Report or Case Series”) are eligible for this presentation format. Oral Presentations are reserved for the highest-rated original studies across the submitted categories, granting authors the opportunity to present their scientific research through an oral lecture at a scheduled date and time within the College’s official scientific program. Only submissions categorized as an “Original Study” may be selected for live presentation at the Congress. The number of studies selected for presentation within each area or subspecialty will be determined by the Scientific Program Committee. Authors will be notified via email regarding the presentation format for which their study has been selected.
AUTHORS’ RESPONSIBILITIES
All expenses associated with registration and the presentation of scientific studies for electronic posters and oral abstracts at CBR26 are the sole responsibility of their respective authors. Submitted studies must not have been previously published or presented with similar content at other national scientific events. By submitting their studies for presentation as electronic posters or oral abstracts at CBR26, all authors authorize the CBR Board of Directors and all supporting medical societies to publish the presented study in PDF and/or video format indefinitely across various communication channels (printed, digital, and/or web). This authorization is granted strictly for educational and scientific purposes, as well as for regional, national, or international promotional efforts for the event, with no copyright fees or royalties due to the authors.
CERTIFICATION
Following the conclusion of the Congress, an online certificate will be issued to the author(s) of the approved study. Information regarding access to the certificates will be announced at a later date. Only one certificate will be issued per presented study. At least one of the authors must be registered and attend the event to receive the certificate.
AWARDS
An award will be presented to the best study delivered as an “Oral Presentation.” In addition, first, second, and third-place prizes will be awarded within each area and subspecialty. The announcement of the winners will take place on September 30, 2026.
